From the moment we can walk and talk, we gather to invent games through the world around us – a stick becomes a sword, the floor is lava, this frisbee is now home base. We’re just sorta… born with an ability to invent play. At Unbound we aim to take that natural inventiveness into the digital medium and clayxels are just the building blocks to get us there.

Clayxels are simple shapes that can be blended together naturally to create more complex 3D objects.
Models made with clayxels retain a record of their component shapes, meaning you can take out parts and remix them… forever.
With clayxels you don’t have to start from scratch to create something unique, the more you share the more possibilities for everyone!
With more than 20 years of experience in computer graphics, tools development, and game design we share a long term commitment to lowering the barrier to 3D content creation. For decades, game development tools have not been designed for creators but instead with the needs of first generation GPUs in mind; fixed-function ancestors of hardware with the singular purpose of rendering polygons. But modern era GPUs serve a more general purpose, leveraging massively parallel processors no longer limited to just rendering polygons. At Unbound we believe this shift opens up room for alternative ways to make and render games. Like voxels, clayxels will unlock wider participation in 3D development by removing technical hurdles from the creative process.
